Grace Light is an ethereal, immersive art installation at San Francisco’s Grace Cathedral — and capturing it required an equally subtle and intentional approach. I was tasked with documenting the experience without disturbing the atmosphere or participants. To do this, I paired the Sony FX3 with DZO Arles primes, a DJI RS3 Pro, and the Tilta Float rig to create smooth, expressive movement in near silence.
To stay low-profile in such a reverent setting, I used consumer-grade video glasses to monitor discreetly — freeing me from the need for a bulky monitor and letting the experience unfold naturally around me. With limited time and no retakes, this minimal setup let me move fast, stay out of the way, and still deliver polished, cinematic results.
